No disrespect to the Queen, but I didn’t wake up like this. I’ve put in a lot of work, and today was a great reminder of the journey. #FOTR2014 #weightloss #fitness (at Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre)

I submitted a progress picture at the end of 2013, but was still too embarrassed to show any pictures of myself shirtless. 2014 has been an unbelievably great year for me, and now I feel confident enough in my progress to share.
The relationship between my emotional/mental well-being and nutrition has improved dramatically. I still have not-great days emotionally (who doesn’t?), but I do my absolute best to continue to fuel my body with the food it needs to achieve my goals.
I work with an INCREDIBLE trainer whose energy is off the charts. It’s almost impossible to put into words. He is a constant positive influence and always encourages me to push past the boundaries I set in front of myself.
More than anything, I finally believe that I deserve to live my best life.I used to shy away from making plans and goals, because I doubted I was equipped with the intelligence/work-ethic/skills/etc. to achieve them. Not anymore. I have celebrated being alive in 2014; it feels amazing!!!
I now understand that I have so much to experience, and I am beyond excited to keep expanding this life of mine. :-)
Thank you all for sharing your stories; it has been such a source of inspiration and joy in my life.
In Sociology, this week’s module is on propaganda and marketing. For homework, we were asked to make a poster for an imaginary campaign either for a made-up product or a current social issue. This is mine.
From the documentary BURN. Firemen save two pit bulls from smoke inhalation.
